Orbitbswift was founded in Vancouver in 2016 with one focus: retirement planning that actually serves the people it's meant for.
What Orbitbswift does — plainly stated
Orbitbswift is a fee-for-advice retirement planning firm based in Vancouver, BC. We help individuals and couples — typically between the ages of 45 and 70 — build and maintain written retirement plans that cover savings strategy, income sequencing, and estate intentions. We serve clients across Metro Vancouver and British Columbia, and work with a small number of remote clients in other Canadian provinces where our team holds appropriate registrations. Our process is straightforward: three structured planning sessions to build the plan, an annual review to update it, and ongoing access to our advisers when life changes in between. Every plan we produce is a written document that belongs to you — not a sales pitch dressed up as advice.
How we work — and a few things we're honest about
We started Orbitbswift because we kept hearing the same frustration from people approaching retirement: they'd had plenty of product conversations but very few planning conversations. We wanted to change that ratio. Since 2016 we've completed full retirement plans for more than 320 client households across BC, and the team has grown to three core advisers — each specialising in a distinct pillar of retirement planning. We keep the firm deliberately small because retirement planning done well is slow, careful work. We don't manage investment portfolios, and we don't earn commissions from products. Our fee structure is transparent and agreed before any work begins. There are real limits to what any plan can guarantee: market returns, inflation, and government policy all shift in ways that can't be fully predicted. What a well-built plan does is give you the flexibility to adapt without losing your footing. That's the promise we can stand behind — and the one we actually make.
What struck me most about working with Orbitbswift was how honest they were about what the plan could and couldn't do. They didn't promise me a number — they showed me a range and explained what would need to go wrong for the low end to kick in. That kind of transparency made it easier to trust the whole process.
